Mission Statement:

 

The New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Commission is dedicated to promoting quality programs and facilities for all citizens of New Martinsville regardless of race, age, gender, disability or disadvantages. This is done with the respect and guidelines set by the New Martinsville City Council and the citizens of New Martinsville.

The City of New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department operates 8 city park facilities. Below is a list of our parks, click on any park to learn more.

Shelter Rentals

Picnic shelters at Brooklyn, Bruce and Lewis Wetzel Parks may be rented for April through October starting the first working day in January. Rental fee various with size of shelter.

Lewis Wetzel Shelter

 
Located at Lewis Wetzel Park, Lewis Wetzel Shelter offers the perfect spot to host birthday parties, reunions, and more. With access to paddle boating, a swimming pool, baseball field, playground, basketball court and dog park, Lewis Wetzel Shelter is sure to be a fit for the whole family. The shelter has access to electric, water, and a charcoal grill. Call to reserve the shelter for your event!

Bruce Park Shelters

 
Four different sized shelters are located at Bruce Park. Pictures and amenities are listed.

Lewis Wetzel Family Center

Lewis Wetzel Family Center

This multi use facility is located in Lewis Wetzel Park, behind the Wetzel County Hospital. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, stove, ice machine and sinks. Capacity is 320 seated individuals.


Park Attractions

Lewis Wetzel Pool

Located in beautiful Lewis Wetzel Park, the Lewis Wetzel Pool is a great place for all ages to cool off. The zero depth entry offers accessibility for everyone. The lily pads are a challenging water walk and often lead to hilarious fun. The stars of the show are the two large water slides.

Bruce Park Mini Golf

 
Bruce Mini Golf, located at Bruce Park, provides a fun mini-golf experience for any age. With 18 holes, Bruce Mini-Golf is open May - October for $3 a golfer per round. Times and prices are subjected to change.

Lewis Wetzel Pond & Paddle Boats

 
Lewis Wetzel Pond, located at Lewis Wetzel Park, provides a wonderful location to fish and paddleboat. Paddleboat's are available from the end of May - September for $3 a boat. Times and price are subject to change upon season.
